It's a lovely name I thought it was quite popular atm? My cousin and a friend have both called their baby's Archie. Oh and my brother and sister-in-law have a lovely Scotty dog called Archie as well
Maybe it's because they know that it used to be short for Archibald? Personally, it's one of those names that I think is all right but wouldn't choose myself. There do seem to be quite a few of them about - there was a little lad in Nandos the other week with that name.
