I have my scan tomorrow morning and was just wondering as I know you need one for the 12wk one. Sooo excited about my scan! :D :cheer: Gemma x x x x

I was told I didn't need to fill up my bladder, but I've read other threads on here where others were told to. If you're in doubt, then just drink loads beforehand anyway, and if it's too full, just pop to the loo to empty out your bladder.

I went yesterday. I asked at the front desk and they said you don't need a full bladder so I went to the loo. When I had the scan done she said "gosh you have a full bladder". I think if it's full it can obstruct the view so I wouldn't drink any more than you would on a normal morning.

Good luck

i drank drink in the car on the way to hosp as noone told me to or not so wasnt sure and drank loads. sono never said nowt, she jsut said thats your bladder and theres the baby and that was it

My letter told me to fill my bladder to a comfortable level. I've been back to check on the position of my placenta and they've told me that I should drink as much as possible so it's clear because it's at the bottom. They really should let you know beforehand because it sounds like everywhere's different

They told me to have a full bladder but I had such a full bladder that it hurt when she pressed down so they sent me to the loo and told me to empty about half and then come back :)

A full bladder restricts the movement of the baby, therefore the doc can't get a proepr look in.

Thanks for all your replys. I think I will go half full and see what they say when I get there. Gotta leave in a hour am soooo excited and nervous! :D Will post pics later on. Gemma x x x x
