Do babies dream?

Do you think that babies dream? Last night Ellie woke at about 5am making scared sounding noises. These relatively quickly turned to happy "talking" to herself noises, but I get the feeling she had had a nightmare.

What do you thin they dream about?

Yes I think so! I'm sure I read somewhere that they dream in the womb too. I suppose they dream about their experience which will include being born which must be pretty scary. Elliott used to have bad nightmares but he doesn't have so many any more.

I wonder this as well as Otis tends to whimper in his sleep from time to time, and then suddenly he'll break out into a big gummy smile - wonder what goes on in their tiny heads!

Jakob obviously isnt laughing yet but he has laughed in his sleep before! or what sounded like a laugh..it was so weird, he also smiles, cries and whimpers in his sleep sometimes..im sure they dream!

oh yes i'm positive babies dream.
goodness knows what about though - probably when they are very little they might dream about feeding, or a recent toy, or their parents or something like that.

madi always makes really cute noises in her sleep im sure she dreams hehe
