I am sorry but I have to have a rant!
I am an Occupational Health Nurse and it is my job to promote healthy workplace's and encourage good working relationships...
My employers though don't practice what they preach and they are absolutley awful. They are treating me like Sh*t.
I have been absent from work with Work related stress, ( lots of reasons mainly due to the attitude of the management.... nothing has changed ) My maternity leave is due to start on November 17th.
Today I have had a nasty letter from work telling me of my rights ( 6 weeks after I handed in my Matb1 ( supposed to be a 28 day reply period) they have suspended my e-mail account which I have been using for a work funded degree ( Which I will still be completing right up until the due date) and they have erased all the info stored on that account. I have asked them to put an out of office reply on there to inform my lecturers that the account is not longer active and I have been told no its not appropriate!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am not allowed to go into work as it is considered inappropriate and I have handed back my phone and laptop, Ifeel as if I have been given the sack! The thing is I am still classed as being off sick not on MAternity Leave.. ( aparently there is something written about when your on mat leave you have no access to work or work equiptment)
This is from an employer whos buisness it is to advise other companies on how best to manage staff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ridiculous!
I don't know now if I should write a letter of complaint to my direct boss ( An Occupational Healt doctor and part owner of the company or if I should just ignore them and get on with my Mat leave. They are going to pay me the basic maternity pay so I will owe them nothing when I decide I want to go back.... at this moment in time they can stick their job up their a**e
