Had a stressful day today :(

I went for my normal midwife appointment this morning, I have protein and ketones in my urine and my bp reading was 168/99 - so i was referred straight to the hospital as ive had flashing lights in my eyes and headaches..

when i got to the hosp my urine was clear and my bp had dropped to 140ish so all good there however the midwife wanted a doctors opinion so a dr came and said he wanted a registrars opinion because my bp always seems high - they agreed to put me on a low dose of medication to manage my bp...

whilst this was happening babys heartrate kept going missing and the machine was beeping so i was starting to worry, when her heart rate came back it had shot up to 160 baseline.

they told me to go for something to eat and drink and come back in half an hour so assess the babys heartrate again... when i went back after half an hour her heart rate had shot up to 180 baseline - i had already been told that the norm is between 110-160 - lots of midwives, drs and the registrars kept coming in looking at the readings and commenting on how fast it was..

a new dr came on shift came into me and said im not worried shes obviously just active and im not putting you on bp tablets because its settling down throughout the day and basically asked me to leave because they needed the bed!!!

would you be happy with that? surely the midwife the first dr and the registrar cant all be wrong and this dr is right! i cant stop worrying!! one of the first drs said worst case scenario is that they would have to give me a section and get the baby out if her heartrate doesnt calm down!

ive got to see my midwife before next wednedsay and ive got an appointment with a consultant on wednesday - why if theres no problem?!?!

sorry for the long post and thanks to anybody who managed to read it all x

That sounds odd to change treatment and concern so quickly, think I would be demanding more answers too even to put my mind more at rest, can you ring mw and be seen again sooner as your so worried? The stress won't be helping anything. Hope you get some more reassurance soon x

Thank you for reading, i am going to ring my MW first thing see what her thoughts are. I think it is shocking how quickly their opinions can change x

glad you are calling MW in the morning, I would and request that I be seen (note I said request but in true me style I would demand) and have some answers. I understand completely that you would be worried. Take care hope it goes well tomorrow x

Thank you, haha I deffo am going to demand that I get another opinion! x

Was baby moving whilst you were on the monitor?

When i was getting monitored my Lo's heartbeat was up near the 180's, but he/she was wriggling around a lot so getting excersise!

xx

I'd deffo ask for a second opinion about the BP meds though x

I would also get a second opinion. I get ECG'D or whatever it is called  at every appointment at the hospital (that's how they roll in Germanland) and we never get a good run of heart rate as he's too active!

Good luck xx

excuse my french but-what w@nkers! thats silly how they treated you and has just caused worry. When im on the monitor my babys heartbeat ranges from 120 to 165 all over the place etcI would defo ring your MW as in my opinion they do call up and stand up and ask exactly what something means, they get things moving.I have been riddled with this lately get told one thing then another happens, then worry about what if they are right or wrong and if something happens is it because they let you go etc its a lot of stress thta you dont need.I owuld either call up and ask them to clarify things or get your MW on the case and just say your minds all over the place and cant remember how they have left it and what everything meant etc xxxx
