I've been worrying a bit about baby getting the right amount of protein. Since I got haemorrhoids about a month ago, I've been living on a rather restricted diet, mainly bran, beans, veggies. I know there's some protein in that, but is there enough?

I am terrified of eating meat, I would do ANYTHING rather than get piles again, they're the worst thing that's ever happened to me!

what about egg? Packed with protein. Veggie omlette x

I think I can have some eggs without too much bum paranoia, LOL!!!! Thanks, Princess

Oh bless you ISH xxx eggs and milk are v good for protein too so a milkshake to finish off your omelette xx

Ah yes, milk, I need it for that vile bran, so have it all the time :D

I am just craving meat like a savage, so I was thinking perhaps baby needs some...

I'm going mad for meat at the moment too, it's not like me, normally I could pass as a veggie (bar bacon sarnies, they just taste too damn good) x

Cheese, tofu (urrrk sorry), quorn (urrrk again), beans n pulses (lentils, baked beans, chickpeas, houmous), nuts. Grains, cereals etc.

I think cheese is what gave me the piles, I was living on it :(

Quorn is quite nice so long as you cook it as if it was meat. Like in a spag bol as it picks up the flavours you put with it. :) I can't imagine what piles are like. :( Surprised I have managed to avoid them though to be honest!xx

If you don't want meat but have the taste do look at the Quorn range........I'm a veggie and I love all the sausages, burgers, scotch eggs, porkless pies, beef and onion pies, lamb and beef flavoured steaks!!! They do a fishless range too but I can't eat it..........tastes too fishy!!!

I never ate bacon before I was a veggie - love the quorn rashers now though!! I also use them chopped up in pasta dishes and quiches.

I have quorn and veggie pasties - not bad at all! They don't really taste like anything, but I'm in no position to be fussy.
