Hi Girls,

I'm going to sound like such a big wuss. My hubby and I decided we would go out for a curry this evening as I couldn't be bothered to cook tonight. Anyway, there we were tucking into our starters and having a great conversation (incidentally about when little one arrives), and I started to feel a strange pulling like pain across the top of my bump (near my ribs)! It felt like period pains and muscles tightening at the same time.

I suffer from period pains quite badly (before I fell pregnant of course) and it brought it all back! The BH didn't last very long - maybe 5 mins or so - but if i'm being completely honest they were a bit painful. Now i'm just worrying myself silly thinking how bad are the real contractions going to be! I feel like i'm letting myself down as i've been on a hypnobirthing course and have been feeling SO positive about it until now, and now just think when it comes to D Day everything I have learned and invested in is going to go out the window and I'm not going to be able to cope.

I'm feeling very sorry for myself girls...as you can tell! I think I need to to put on my CD and practice my breathing techniques.

One lesson I have learned from this is maybe the old wives tales are true about curry bringing on contractions - even if they are only BH!!

How have you all felt about BH (probably not a wimp like me)?

I hate them! They are horribly uncomfortable, Not painful for me but still nasty nasty things lol

I was only thinking today that my bh are starting to hurt a little! Not much but some of them are really ow!

i still havnt had any :-(

i feel so left out, lol

i get pains in my belly when i walk too fast or too far, but nothing like ur describing so can only think that they arnt BH and just baby sayin "oi slow down mum"

gota admit tho, they dont sound that nice!!

Sorry Amy - didn't mean to put you off. Maybe you have had them but have just coped a lot better than I have? Now I'm thinking back to it they weren't that bad that I can't cope - I think it was just the shock that I have experienced them and got a bit of a 'taste' of the next best thing to contractions.

I'm sure we'll all be fine - girl power!!!

i told my midwife i hadnt had any and she just said oh well your a lucky one arnt u,

im like that wasnt what i was expecting, lol i wish i had them, at least id know my body knew what to do and expect when they turn into real contractions, lol

saying that i bet i get loads from now on because ive not had any yet *fingers crossed*

i bet ur hard really, just comes as a strange shock :-)

xxx

I get lots of these now, and they make me want the loo! (as if I'm not already pretty much living in the loo anyway!)

You will find you get used to how they feel, but annoying none the less
