Did any of you ladies watch This Morning yesterday? They was talking about pregnancy and they actually said for the first 6 months of pregnancy you don't need to eat any extra calories and that it's best to not "eat for two" as that can make us suffer with high blood pressure and possible problems, he said we just need to each extra 200 calories a day from 6 to 9 months so just a few slices of toast etc, I was really shocked by it but I'm glad I know so I don't stuff my face when I finally fall pregnant xx

I watched it too. For nearly the first 4 months I couldn't keep much down from sickness let alone eat for two lol

No I didn't see it, but I wouldn't be worrying too much about how much I was eating (within reason of course) as its a time to relax and go with your cravings surely? I was ill with my first pregnancy too so could hardly eat much at first either. Personally apart from health concerns where necessary im absolutely sick of everything being about our shapes and appearances.
How such a person lost all her weight or how to look younger, be thinner, get bigger bums etc etc all aggravates me to the core.
Of course each to their own, but I wish the media would stop telling us what we should look like.
(climbs off soapbox) xxx

I know it makes you wonder doesn't it? 100s of years ago women wasn't doing all this insane stuff we do today ttc all the vitamins and all the ovulation look ours we do probably never happened in them days xxx

I know they were talking from a health perspective but Im always dubious about the undertone from the media in general.
I was told years ago when pregnant I MUST drink a pint of full fat milk a day at least.
The same musts were projected about breastfeeding and co sleeping and the like.
I just think your body tells you what you need to some extent. Xxx

Yes, that's a good point. I think they used to do legs in the air. But then they did some crazy stuff as well.
I think the difference now is that our food is often so chemically adjusted and treated we consume alot of stuff that is more of a hinderance than a help.
Interesting xxx

all I wanted to do in pregnancy was eat

I could hardly eat for the first 3 months but I think I made up for it later lol. As long as you don't go crazy and try to eat healthy you will be fine x
