Diabetes!!

Hi all, well i'm33weeks pregnant and have just been told that i have diabetes! I'm just begging that its only gestational. I don't think that i know anyone who has a sweeter tooth than i do and to be told your not allowed any sugar at all is devestating. Has anyone else here got it?? if so how are you coping??

I'm high risk because it runs in my family. I had a test at my last midwife appointment and have another one tomorrow so will find out the results then. I also have the biggest sweet tooth so I hope not

At least it will help you not put on too much weight if you have a sugar restriiction Natalie

skatty do u have more tests than usual cos its runs in the family??

is diabeties something they can just tell u have when u pee??

hi, skatty thanks for replying. good luck with your results. thats excatly what i keep thinking...at least i wont put too much weight on. Sophie your wee dip test just shows if you have sugar in your urine which can happen if you've had something sweet within last 24 hours or so, but then they do a glucose tolerence test (gtt). hope your in clear too. x
