Well, whilst I am getting the horrid bits of pregnancy (nose bleeds and sickness) I thought I would love the benefits of free dentist treatment.

Had teeth cleaned and was poked about and didn't cost me a penny.

That made me puking up 4 times today entirely worth it! :puke:

Look on the bright side.... at least you did'nt have to pay for someone to make you puke
I dont think i could cope with the dentist, i gag when brushing my teeth

I've not been to the dentist for 6 years     And one of the reasons is I can't bare to pay for torture which is what I find the dentist, either on the bank account or the physical aspect! If I get toothache or my crown falls out I go. Luckily I've had no pain nor loose crowns for the past 6 yrs (apart from financial pain as the last lot cost me £800 which included a new front crown!).

BUT - I really am looking fwd to going and having my teeth cleaned FOC & keeping them clean a result of quitting black coffee, red wine & fags!! FOC dentistry & a whiter smile I can cope with...(not that I expect a new crown this time round!), but a general oral MOT for nothing is something I'm dead chuffed about!!

I just hope my local dentist will still have me on their books or kicked me off for lack of attendance these past 6 yrs ?? :?

Well...everyone in theory is entitled to a NHS dentist, so contact them, let them know you are pregnant and book an appointment. Get us much done whilst its free, it's all very exciting. If for some reason they no longer have room then go on to www.nhs.uk where you can search for local dentists and it should let you know whether or not there is space for NHS patients.

I am generally good with the dentist and used to go every 6 months, but when I moved I just didn't think I would get a dentist, so left it for a year or so. As I said I was really surprised how easy it was to go get a dentist!

Good luck!
