I am petrified........and avoid at all costs.....

I am so sick of being nagged by my family to "go whilst its free"!! I know they are right but i just hate the dentist, i know that alot of people hate the dentist but i HATE the dentist, the thought brings me to tears and when i am there i am a wreck...

Dilemna, is, i have two crowns as front teeth and the right one is numb and the gum looking sore plus a few mouth ulscers which is nothing strange to me but basically have a sore mouth and throat. I should go and get it checked but i just can't.

Someone non-family give me a kick up the ass!!

sorry hun im with u
RUN and RUN fast thats my moto haha

my mum still drags me there kicking and screaming ill be 40 and shell still be draggin me

i walk in and tell them u can look but u aint touching haha

That is exactly what they do, they do a check and look and say you need this and this so i book my next appt and i then think till it comes of an excuse and dont go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

KICK! Imagine if it gets worse and your mouth gets rotten and you have to have something major done! It would be so much worse than going now, plus your mat benefit might have run out by then and it could cost loads! Go on Amy be brave!!! :cheer:

I'm great, just getting annoyed will all the wedding agro at the mo, but I bet you have that too right?
Anyway, only a mate would give you a kick up the arse! :rotfl:

i would if they put me to sleep dont feel it then!!

it all stems from my childhood, like a typical kid i thought i could ride my older bro's bike and ended up over the handle bars onto my face lot my teeth....i have had SO much work done to my teeth and each time they have frozen me it has STILL hurt and they have to put more anaethetic in and STILL hurt - "blimey you are hard to freeze for such a small girl" arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i can remember it all so so well.

GO AWAY DENTIST

Have you ever had the gas? I find it works a treat, especially if you have it as well as the injection! Infact, I love going to the dentist just so I can have the gas! Is that a bit wierd??

They wont give gas anymore i dont know why!! tut.

Wedding stuff - yes and trying to sort out who is sitting by who is a 'mare!!!!!!

Tell me about it, there are going to be so many people offended by my seating plans, but you just can't please them all! Why is it that weddings make people so oversensitive?

As fot the gas, I had it two weeks ago, put your foot down and tell them you wont have any treatments without it!!!

Can i have some gas please?! Oh would say i have enough already :rotfl: . Got to find dentist back home, still have one in Bromsgrove in Aston Fields....!

I know, its like the closer your are to the top table the more important argh its crap!!! Think i have got there nearly, although currently have 9 people sitting on an 8 seater table doh!

You are so lucky, I would love Clark by me but my mom said no way as she wants exact wedding ettiquette followed! I swear I might never speak to her again after this wedding, the whole thing isnt about what Brad and I want at all, its just one big chance for her to show off to her snobby friends! Yours sounds like it will be way more relaxed than mine!!

PS I am sorry for hijacking your dentist thread with wedding talk!

hey no worries taken my mind off the dentist!!!!!

Ours is really relaxed which is what i love about it you should see the inflatable bride and groom we have planned...i will make sure i post pics up after the event!!

Haha sounds ace, my mom would die if I had something like that! Can't wait to see the pics!
We have Clarks christening first too, on the 20th of next month, so its all go for us!

Hiya,

I am petrified of the dentists too, last month I managed to drag myself along to one but I think the dentist realised I was pretty nervous and offered to refer me to an anxiety clinic in our area, basically a dentist but a deals with your anxiety and also sedates you if you need work done. I've been before and I can cope with it :) Have you had a look in your local area to see if they do anything similar?

I'm not a dentist but it doesn't seem to me that what you are describing will get better on its own. It's far more likely to get worse. So you can go to the dentist now and it might be scary and unpleasant. Or you can wait until you are in a lot of pain and spend even more time at the dentist, which will be even scarier and less pleasant.

GO TO THE DENTIST!

You can explain your anxiety and have anything that needs to be done over several shorter appointments, stopping when you can't cope anymore.

Kalia i know i need to go and yes i do need to see one but its not that simple lol

Sweet i may well look into that you know thanks u all x

Eve - christening aswell god i would die a young death amber is being christened after at some point
