Dating scan

Hi guys,

can't believe how quickly time has flown as I should be on 2nd trimester now and I haven't posted for ages after my first few - where has the time gone?!! Well I know where a huge proportion of it has gone -down the loo!

Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone else had an AMAZINGLY still baby on their dating scan? I was dated at 12 weeks 3 days when I had it and I have been a bit freaked out about the lack of movement from the baby ever since.

Am I worrying unneccesarily? With my first child he was doing somersaults and back flips so I wasn't sure how normal this was therefore. I guess he/she could have been sleeping but he/she didn't wake to any prodding...also are you able to hear the heartbeat through the scanning machine as I couldn't hear it but obvioulsy all was ok in that department otherwise the midwife would have said

Don't know why I'm panicking really....can't help it!

On my 12 weeks scan with my 2nd she was really still but the other 2 were jumping around. Must of been asleep. No you can't hear the heartbeat through the scan machine, they just see it. I know its hard not to worry but if there was a problem they would of told you.
