After having mirena coil removed in February had 5 months of 28/29 day cycles. Was thrilled for return to clockwork after 13 years on the pill then implant then coil.

Then last month AF kept me waiting 37 days which led to testing torture with BFN after BFN. Decided in the end was likely could have been early failed egg as had taken so long for AF to come.

Then now have just started brownish bleeding today making cycle 23 days. So confused. No idea Whats going on.

Anyone else experienced an immediate return to normal followed by erratic Cycles?

I had a lot of problems with my cycles after being on the pill for a long time. Was always regular before being on the pill. Those problems were due to a high prolactin and after that was treated my cycles went back to normal. I still have the odd cycle which is longer or shorter than my average 25-27 days. Now that I'm tracking I know it depends when I ovulate and I'm not sure if this was the case before as I never would have noticed. I've never been as much as 23-37 days though. I think I've only been 24-32 days and that was one very random 32 day cycle. Next longest I think was 28 days. Is it worth talking to the GP?

I feel your pain. Periods came back Jan after having my wee boy/breastfeeding. Regular for 6 months til June (28 days). Last month 36 days and this month I'm Day 33 and been spitting since yesterday! So frustrating as no idea when I'm ovulating. This month we did the deed every 2/3 night but as that's not worked I've bought ovulation tests and starting then next week every day!

If it doesn't settle next month then I think you might be right about GP although I'm never sure how helpful they will be. I'm trying to take last month as a positive that of cycle was that long was likely early loss and that should mean can at least get pregnant. Confused today though...not sure yet if this is real deal AF or just spotting. Will have to see what next couple of days brings x

I have no idea either! Managed probably twice a week this month DTD with a couple extra in amongst that. Hubby wants baby.....was brooding than me but he will not DTD if he's not on the right mood. I've always had the higher sex drive and as much as I love hearts and flowers I don't see the problem with the odd quickie to get the job done lol x

Yeh lol he needs to just pop it in and come a few extra times! Haha! Not sure gp will be all that helful. They can do bloods to check they're a not a problem but they might struggle to do the ovulation blood test if you don't know where your cycles are. How long you been ttc? If over a year you can get referred

If you decide not to bother other the GP yet, you could maybe try tracking your ovulation. It could help you understand your cycle and you'll then know when you're most fertile. I just do the cheap opks and that way I know at will come 14 days later. I find this way I'm looking at my cycle rather that the average 28 day one. Has been helpful for me. Hope what I've said makes sense.

Thanks moomin might try opks again. Did use some for one month but then was getting normal cycle so decided to just roll with it. Only been the for 4 months. Was ntnp for 3 months before that. So just trying to go with the flow as much as possible and not get too hung up on dates. Hubby not good with sex under pressure lol x

I do track my cycle just so I know we're covering the right dates but I just don't involve OH with it. He knows not to ask questions haha and that works for us. I try everything not to put him under pressure and we now seem to have found our own little system that works.

Opks are definitely good for me as I've found I can ovulate as early as CD11 so it could be easily missed.

Hi nikkibiscuit I feel your pain. We are TTC and my period was due 4 days ago. Got cramp, backache, tiredness abd just generally feeling a bit crummy. Never had this happen as I'm usually like clockwork or a day or 2 early. Was hoping I was pregnant but test came back negative yesterday - any advice appreciated on what the hells going on .....

I'm also like clockwork usually, give or take a day or 2. I had a random 32 day cycle some months back - had myself convinced I was pregnant, then AF got me with a vengeance and it was like the world ended. Do you use OPKs? I've found it helpful just to know when I ovulate as it gives me a better idea of how long that particular cycle will be so I don't get my hopes up if I have a random longer one. Hopefully it's better news for you. Unfortunately it was just a random longer one for me.

Last month was torture. I didn't know what to think. Hang in there and try not to test any more often then every 3 days I would suggest. I tried not to but did some bit closer together and it just wound me up more.

My spotting turned into full period so went from 37 day cycle last month to 23 day cycle this month. Totally bizarre for me. So want to get back on the ttc mission this month. Might do some opks cos based on last 2 months no idea when will be ov. Although might just stick with dtd every other day....OH seems to be on a mission this month he has said today he wants to focus on covering the right days and give us the best chance. Which is total change of heart he's been really what will be will be until now. Fingers crossed ladies!
