I need a bit of advice from anyone who's had a similar problem to me. I'm 35 years old and came off the pill in march last year after taking the pill for about 15 years.
I got a withdrawal bleed and I started getting period with varried cycle lengths between 32 and 40 days. I got one period with a 29 day cycle but after that they've been getting further and further apart (50 day, 60 days now on 83 days and no period).
I've seen my GP who seems to think this could just be normal for me. This can't be normal!
They've done a blood test just before my 60 day cycle which confirmed ovulation but I'm now left waiting with nothing for 83 days.
I do ovulation test daily I have never had a positive result. they are always very faint to pretty much not present. My temp varies widely day to day and noticed no difference in mucus.
On my last visit to the GP they agreed to refer me to a fertility clinic. But the clinic has refused the referral because I've not been trying for 12 months! Despite the NHS website saying if you are over 35 contact your doctor after 6 months.
Has anyone experienced similar with cycles getting further apart? Or anyone else been refused to be seen by a clinic despite a GP referral and irregular periods.
I know I've not been trying that long but I'm getting very stressed at the increasing time between periods. Any similar stories and the outcome would be welcome. Thanks x
