Hi everyone,
I'm still new to this keeping a eye on your cycle business...... (after being on the pill sooo long)
I know everyone's different but what's your average cycle length please?? X

Not much to go on here really being only in my 2nd month ttc after having my Merina out but my first ttc cycle was 27 days and the previous cycle with the coil was also 27 days, so I'm working on a 27 day cycle

I'm not sure how long you were on the pill for but in my experience I was on it nearly 10 years, came off it last June. The first 5 months I was pretty regular between 30-33 days but the last 3 months it's gone a bit haywire. I've had 47, 39 and 44 day cycles so hoping they will get a bit shorter soon.

Hope yours are more regular than mine it can be quite stressful trying to keep track of it. Good luck.

:Thanks.
It's confusing isn't it. My first was 22days, second was 28days, currently on 30 days with absolutely no sign of AF arriving.
Did get my first positive OPK this month though :)

I think that's why they say it can take up to a year to conceive as it takes that long for your body to get back to normal.

Positive opk is a good sign least you can have some idea of what your cycle will be that month

I was on the pill for nearly 7 years... I came off in November and had cycles between 28-33 days until my CP and that was a 37 day cycle, after that, we found out we were pregnant again...

The pill really messes with your hormones. My very first cycle off the pill was long compared to the 28 day cycles I was used too with the pill. I noticed that a lot of women have 4-5 day longer cycles after being on the pill for a long period of time.

I would disregard the first cycle after you came off the pill then start averaging the following ones.. sounds like around 30 days is where you will be sitting..

The positive OPK is a good sign! Best of luck <3

The average cycle length is 28-30 days. Anything from 23-35 is considered "normal" though - you might not fall in the average. As people said it can take a long time for your body to get into a regular rhythm if you've just come off the pill. You should always get your period 13-15 days after a positive OPK though, that won't change. :)

Mine's 30-31 days like clockwork, so depending on the length of a month, I ovulate around the 13th-15th and AF around 26th-28th. :)

Thank you everyone.
It's a whole new world to me. It's annoying because I did ask my doctor on and off for years if the pill would mess me up but she reassured me several times it wouldn't! So I just carried on x

Hi Pink, I was on the pill for 10+ years. The cycles during the first six months off the pill were 31, 28, 32, 29, 30 and 28. So average 30 days.

I was also pretty annoyed and felt a bit misled about being on the pill. I was so focused on the fact that you can be fertile 2 weeks after stopping the pill. Fail to mention that it can take ~6 months for cycles to regulate, possible annovulatory cycles and whatever else comes after stopping the pill! I would have come off the pill much much earlier if I had known! :(

I feel the same. It's horrible isn't it. We just have to keep going and try to remain positive x

Mine seems to be 32 every other cycle or 41-43 over the past 9 months x

Agree with all of the above. What i will say is body can trick you into thinking you are regular. I had about 4 months clockwork when I came off the coil after years of various contraception. I always had 28 day roughly breakthrough bleeds on whatever I was on. So I think this almost kept me regular to start then following that 4 months I had about 6 months where I varied from 23 up to 37.

All I would say is log log log. Apps are brilliant and things you think you will be remmebr are best recorded cos a few months down the line the data you input can be reslly useful x good luck x

First 3 periods for me after coming off the pill were really short- 23-26 days and only one day bleed. Had acupuncture cycle 4 and had 28 day cycle, 4 day bleed..fell pregnant after that. Know I'm extremely fortunate. Hopefully your TTC journey won't be a long one xx

+ 1 for logging data. Been very helpful to track cycles, symptoms etc. :)

Mine are about 38-40 days. Usually ovulate around cd 25. Although they’re long I still manage to fall pregnant with them though so irregular periods / long cycles don’t always mean you won’t fall pregnant

Thanks everyone. Do you use apps to keep track of things? Which ones do you like? X

I've been using Natural Cycles app since November 2017 to track my cycle to see if everything came back to normal after 12 years of HBC and I must say it's one of the best decisions ever as it put my mind at ease that things are still working ok down there when it detected my ovulation :)

I measure my temperatures daily and I also use LH tests near the ovulation time. I would recommend trying as it can be used either for TTC and TTA. I think this knowledge of my cycle is invaluable and it makes it so much easier to pinpoint fertile/non-fertile days.

Happy to answer any questions about the app and how it works. I also have a 30% discount code if anyone is interested in trying it which I'll be happy to share.

I use Flo, it has a nice interface and works well so far. I also liked the look of Ovia as well. Other options are Fertility Friend and Glow (+ many more). If you search for apps in their forum, there are lots of good threads on this!

Thank you too everyone for all your help and suggestions. AF arrived today, cycle day 34 !!
