Sorry i have not been around much this week. I went to London for a long weekend and it has totally taken it out of me.

This is what i need advice on. I don't think it is usual to feel this tired from going away for a weekend. I think i should go get checked out. I came back on Monday but am still like the walking dead. Do i go to see my Doctor or Midwife? My midwife only works on Tuesday.

Also one more question. I have my 20 week scan on Monday. Do I need a full bladder for this?

Thank you in advance for your replies. Hope everyone is well. Am just starting to see what has been going off for the past week.

Yes you need a full bladder for your scan - if it's too full they'll ask you to empty a bit, but if it's not full enough you'll have to sit drinking water forever.

If you're still knackered and are eating well and getting plenty of water then there's no harm asking the doc/midwife - sure they will have heard a lot more silly things than you asking about being tired so I wouldn't worry about asking them. Maybe you need iron tablets or something?

No harm in getting checked out regardless :)

Hi there,
I was told to have an empty bladder for the 20 week scan. I was told it wouldn't work if the bladder was full! I'd suggest bringing a small bottle of water with you. Just ask the receptionist what's best and if she says full then you can fill it quickly. Our bladders are very small these days!
I wouldn't worry about your energy levels too much. It's only now that I'm starting to feel normal again and I'm now 23 weeks. Even in the run up to the 20 week scan I felt very tired still and was sure I was low in iron but was told that my blood test results were okay. Weekends away or anything out of the norm are bound to be tiring. I actually went to bed at 8.30 last Friday night! I felt so tired after a stressful week at work.
Enjoy your 20 week scan. I was too nervous initially but the operator told me that most babies are fine and there's no need to worry. And of course he was right.
Good luck!

The letter for my 20 week scan says to have a full bladder. And I'd echo what leckershell said. Always worth getting that sort of tiredness checked out, just in case it's an indication that you're anaemic.
