Hi, I was on the implant for 8 months and removed it on the 31st July. I had unprotected sex on the 16th August and on the 24th August I started feeling very nauseous and had a really back headache. After for about 2 days I had light spotting both pink and brown, my nausea was still there and I had cramps. On the 28th August my period came so I thought I was not pregnant, however even after my period finished I still did a pregnancy test and it was negative. I still have symptoms, feel nausea everyday and now I have lower abdominal pain, as well as cramps, stomach pains, feel very bloated, my lower back hurts and after I go toilet I get cramps as well. I have done 2 more tests and it's still negative. So could I be pregnant and just had a low hcg level because I was on contraception and had irregular periods or is it just the side effects of coming off the implant. What should I do? Should I wait this month to see if my period will come or should I ask for a blood test?

is this your first period coming off of the implant? It sounds very much like it's your hormones going a bit haywire and your periods aren't quite 'back to normal' yet, especially if the pregnancy tests are negative and you've had some bleeding already.

If I were in your situation, I would wait it out for the next period. Obviously if your discomfort is increasing then seeing a doctor couldn't hurt because even if it turns out you're not pregnant they may be able to help with something to ease the cramps while your hormones regulate. It's quite normal for bleeding and symptoms to go all wonky after coming off of any contraception and can do so for a few cycles before they settle x

Hi, your not pregnant. Sounds like your experiencing hormonal changes due to the implant being removed. It’s takes a while for the body to get back into a rhythm.
Generally if you get negative tests and a period then it’s definitely not a pregnancy.
If in doubt you can visit the doctor and ask for a blood test.
