I've posted in the health bit but this section seems to get more traffic.

Has anyone had one of these put in for contraception?

I just had one put in last week and it has caused me to have a VERY heavy bleed. Like, changing tampons several times overnight, which quite frankly is unacceptable for me.

Does it eventually settle down? Or is this what I can start to expect as being the norm?

I'm reconsidering it at the minute!

I've had three now, they are brilliant. Yes the bleeding does settle down so don't worry.
Also, they are great for when you decide to ttc. I got pregnant the night after mine was removed (sadly mc'd at 6 weeks) but it shows that you can conceive as soon as you want.
They are my number one choice for contraception x

Thanks for that!

I didn't want to take hormones and hubby is moaning about me monitoring cycles and avoiding fertile days so this seemed the best option.

But I am traumatised by this bleeding! I've become acquainted with orange tampons for the first time in my life and even they aren't sufficient alone.

I'll hang in there then if it gets better and pray it does quickly.

How many cycles did it take for yours to settle down?

My HV said its normal, she fits them at a clinic and said that alot of young girms go back asking to have them removed due to the bleeding after a week or so, but she says that they dint give it time to settle xx

My fat fingers can't spell! x
