My wife has been suffering recently? Can you please recommend some safe natural remedies for this. A litre of prune juice and 2 virtually pure fruit smoothies helped at the weekend but is this OK for the baby?
so he's not pregnant, but my husband always gets a coffee and it does the trick for him and one cup wouldnt be bad for baby!
Try cooking foods like brown rice and veggies....always does the trick for me. or swapping breakfast for porrige oats. things like that help prevent it a lot!
Drink lots of fluids - keeps everything in the gut moistened so should be easier to go! Also, bran flakes are a good idea as are any kind of wholegrain, and of course you need to make sure you're eating enough fruit anad veg. I notice a real difference if I don't eat enough fruit and veg... If you're really suffering I reccomend the Senokot fibre drinks. They don't taste particularly fab but they really seem to help. They're suitable for use during pregnancy because they're not a laxative, they contain Ispaghula husk which help bulk everything out...if you catch my drift!
licorice (sp?) is sometimes prescribed for patients with constipation if she likes it thats a bonus as its a treat too! she maybe able to take lactolose as this is essentially sugar water, but TBH I think the other suggestions are better at sorting the ehem blockage!
Sounds like she is doing all she can then. I suggested bran flakes but she does not like them, nor does she like liquorice. I love both, but i am not the one in discomfort.
