Doesn't take much but the whole pregnancy thing is confusing me!

I'm 20 weeks tomo so is that classed as 5 months or is it not 5 months until 23rd as my due date is 23rd?!?!?! X

Iv wondered this too, doesn't it depend on the amount of days in a particular month? I suppose if 20 weeks is half way then you would be 4.5 month, wow this is confusing! Let's just go with what you said ;-)

It is confusing because at 12 weeks it's classed as 3 months, so 20 is 5 months right?? But 38 weeks is 9months?!?! X

Ha ha. I'm saying 4 1/2 months. Was so confused by that, too! Xx

My mum always says this sort of thing lol - they used to have 9 month pregnancies, rather than the 40 weeks which we have. It adds up to the same thing, but makes it slightly confusing. Personally I count in weeks and only now again think "oh, I'm almost 6 months done". (I would count myself as being 6 months on the 15th)

Who knew simple maths was this confusing!!! xxx

I hate it, I've hated it from the first digi i did that said if it tells you you're 3 weeks what the test actually means is you're 5 weeks... Just put 5 on the test and the 3 explanation on the paper!
I've been wondering if I'm 4 months in a couple of days as I'll be 16 weeks, but the baby isn't due for 5 and a half...
Confuddled!

I thought pregnancy goes in weeks, but I just put myself to the nearest month (so currently still nearest 3 months?)

Although I've been telling people in weeks, let them do the maths

xxxxxxxxxxx

It's because there are 30/31 days in a month, but only 28 days in every 4 weeks, so if you are 20 weeks you wouldn't quite be 5 months pregnant!

Because you always think of there being 4 weeks in a month, that's what confuses things. I would say that at 34 weeks, I am more than 8 months pregnant, but technically, I won't be 8 months until nearly 36 weeks, which works out right, because then I would have 1 month to go.

It's much easier to just count in weeks :) x

It's all very confusing, i tend to say i'm at a new month on the 4th because thats my EDD. So on the 4th May i counted it as 6 months pregnant even though i'm 27weeks. then will say 7months on 4th June, 8 on 4th of July etc x
