Confused!!

ok so when i had my blood test done i was told i was 2-3 weeks pregnant. if i check it against my last period i am 6 weeks pregnant. i come up with the same date for dd give 1 day if i do it from ovulation date. then i have read some where that your hcg levels show once implantation has happened.

please forgive me for being dump but i am confused now.

Due dates are normally worked out from the day of your last period even though you didn't concieve then. Ovulation normally takes place around two weeks after your period but not everyone ovulates exactly at two weeks which is why they always go by your last period date as they can't tell when your body actually concieved. So in reality, even though I'm 14 weeks pregnant, baby is probably only 12 weeks old. Hope it makes sense? It is confusing so your not being dumb at all!
