Is anyone/anyones kids doing anything for comic relief this year? whats the oddest thing you have done for charity in the past?

me and my friend dressed up as old ladies in year 11 for comic relief. it was so funny :rotfl:

I kinda get peeved that 60% of the money raised goes to overseas countries and only 40% stays in the UK. I kinda think people are really quick to give to charities/events that help overseas causes/people and much, much slower to give to people/causes in their home towns/counties etc. I know it's a good cause and applaude anyone who gives their time/effort to raise money for others I just sometimes wish charity would start at home, sort the UK's problems out before looking to solve problems of overseas countries if that makes sense. Hope that doesn't sound horrible!

I don't think you're horrible at all...you are entitled to your opinion and I do understand. It is a similar reason as to why I will never donate to an animal charity...yes animals are wonderful, but humans need our money much more.

I think you are right, it is very importnant to support the thousands of people who live below the poverty line in this country and those with debiliatating illnesses. I support Children in Need whole-heartedly because I see so much of the money helping the disabled children, the children from low income families and children in care that I teach.

However, I do feel a need for global responsibility. I worry about the culture of each country protecting its own...it breeds fear and hate. I also can not stand the thought of any other human suffering. How can we look at a malunourished child in danger of death and not help simply because they don't live near us? We are lucky because of where we live, but a war or natural disaster could easily see us in similar predicaments in years to come. I hope other countries will feed my children if they were starving through no fault of their own. If our politicians had global responsibilty, we could end so much povery and hunger in every country...even our own.

Wow this has got serious...sorry. I am quite involved with Comic Relief because of my job. I am working on a big awareness topic for with my kids and we are producing a Comedy revue for Red Nose Day. The kids are all very excited! :D

the song is sugababes and girls aloud doin walk this way originall done by run dmc and aerosmith. they sound terrible and doubt that it will ever be sung live because they do sound really bad on the recorded version. xxxx

its just an excuse for them to b dressed up and showin off their money, the song sounds like cats bein drowned repeatedly!!!

i totally agree! i do not support red nose day at all for that reason. Charity begins at home. There are too many children suffering in this country....

Happy bunny I understand where you are coming from. every time I see the pictures of 4 year olds taking care of their younger brother/sister, sleeping on the street and searching the rubbish dumps for food I cry.

sugababes are more credible than girls aloud but i do like Cheryls outfit lol!!

sarah, thats great! i used to do walks for a kids charity years ago. and i have friends who help out with mencap, so i tend to donate to that now days. i wish i had more time to offer that as well. maybe when alice is a bit older :)

that song is rubbish!!! bet they make loads of money! i would donate for them not to play it!!!!!!
