I have been BF since he was born, which strangely enough I do enjoy cos I love that time with my wee man. I now find that he feeds 3 hourly (ish) from about 4am - 1pm then that decreases to maybe 2 hourly until 5pm and then from then until 10pm it seems to be every hour. It's like he's trying to stock up for his sleep time which is approximately 10pm - 4am (which I can cope with cos I am getting sleep then). What I'm wondering is if I were to give him formula at say the 5pm feed would this maybe last him longer and cut down on the time he's attached to my boob at this stage of the day? Any other suggestions??

Formula won't necessarily fill him up hun. Cluster feeding at night us common but they do grow out of it the more efficient they get at feeding

I'd say you were doing very well so just stick at it if you're enjoying feeding.

At 15 weeks Harry now goes between 2-3 hours but prob only feeds for 15 mins. Apart from his last feed before bed which can be 30-40 mins. (I breastfeed)

If you're looking for a good system for combination feeding, try the Baby Whisperer's guide to Breastfeeding. There's really straightforward guidance on using bottles in your routine alongside breastfeeding, without making it sound 'wrong' - which is the attitude I've come across in many books. I'm hoping to try combination feeding providing I can get breastfeeding established first. It's this one here http://www.amazon.co.uk/Breast-Feeding-Tracy-Hogg-Melinda-Whisperer/dp/0091929733/ref=sr_1_12?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1344293667&sr=1-12&keywords=tracy+hogg and is very readable! Best of luck :) xx

its cluster feeding and he will grow out of it hun, i wouldnt add in formula unless u have to and i combi feed lol. my lo dosent really like formula and only takes it when shes had all the booby juice i can give lol
