Co-sleeping

Hi Ladies......

Well we have our little lady Matilda home now and so far she is doing great!

Im BF her and waking her every 4-6 hours and shes sleeping like a dream during the feeds but we are also interested in co-sleeping so wondered who does it, what it involves and how are you finidng it compared to non co-sleeping parenting?

We co-sleep. When Seb was brand new (lol) I slept with his head on my arm and my arm curled round him. Always made sure the pillows were nowhere near him and we just had a sheet on us to stop him getting too warm. Now we half co-sleep. The first half of the night he sleeps in his cot and the second half he sleeps with us. We still do the same re. him on our arm and only a sheet covering us. It's about reducing the risks so when I take my pain killers in the eve (not very often do I feel the need to do this) we don't co-sleep cos they really knock me out. We don't drink, don't smoke, use a sheet rather than a blanket etc etc

Now he's in his cot more often I sometimes wake up looking for him! Lol x when he was newborn I felt safer with him co-sleeping but I'm now more relaxed with him going in his cot and enjoy having the space to move and cuddle OH (and bd once we're married ) but then I love the closeness of the other half if the night when we co-sleep! Not too sure any of this makes sense! Lol

Thanks Helen....yeah it all makes perfect sense!

Ive had Matilda in with us a couple of times...patially for my peace of mind and partially becasue she just loves cuddles and being close....

I do exactly the same as youve described, no quilts, pillows etc etc.

We too dont drink or smoke so thats a binus Im sure....lol!

Yeah I know what you mean I still look into her moses basket all the time as I literally feel like I sleep with on eye open as you do...so I think Im kinda co-s;eeping now then I just wasnt sure if there was something other than what you have described was involved or some special way of doing it so I guess I can say were doing a bit of co sleeping already right?

I love co sleeping and do it for the majority of the night as Maisie will only go to sleep when she's cuddled she has her head on my arm and i have it round her. Sometimes i wake up and she's rolled but shes on the wall side and never goes far and i wake quite quickly when she does it but its lovely

We co-sleep most of the time. At the start it made bf easier and comforted him as he didn't want to be alone

He now has his place curled up right by me but I find I sleep so rigidly still I wake up stiff as a board.

We do have pillows and a duvet but position ourselves to counter the problem if that makes sense. I kind of sleep higher up the bed with Oscar so DH can still have covers lol.

I co-sleep with Eva in the mornings cos it's easy to pick her up when she wakes early in the morning and bring her in bed for a feed and we both fall asleep for a while till it's time to get up for the day. she lies on the bed next to me and I curl my body round her. It's my favourite part of the day! The closeness is indescribale

I put Sofia in our bed when she wakes up at 5 am feed. I feed lying down and then tend to fall asleep with her there, so it's cool! I sleep with an arm around her. The beginning and middle of night she sleeps in her cot. X

Kieron often has the last few hours of the night in bed with us but it depends how tired I am-my 4yo often climbs in our bed so il only let myself doze incase he comes in. Kieron also sleeps on my arm and I shove the pillows high up xx

Jealous! I would love a morning sleepy cuddle with G but he's never shown any prefernce for it and just squirms around the whole time!

The best bit of my morning is waking up to Seb lying curled up in my arms and then he'll roll onto his side, put his hand on my face and give me the biggest smiles ever!!!!!

Ahhh thanks ladies!!

Its sounds like theres a lot of co sleeping going on... I love having cuddles off Matilda and daddy is able to get them too....

She usually sleeps in her moses basket till her middle of the night feed then comes in with us till her breakfast feed and I love it... Nothing better than cuddles off our little angels xxx
