CM? Ovulation?

Hi so I'm pretty sure I don't ovulate every month. So for the 1st time in months, saturday and sunday i had very sticky and stretchy clear white CM. Sorry for TMI.So I was wondering roughly when would you think I'd be ovulating? Or did i ovulate between Saturday and Sunday?x

I've looked into this a lot now and it's normal to ovulate at the end of tge period of egg white cervical mucus. Usually within 12-36 hours of getting a positive ovulation test.

What struck me, that I've learned this weekend is that in studies done on ovulation/sex and conception times, the highest chance of conception is from sex during the 1-2 days of LH surge right before ovulation. After that, the next highest chance is that you had sex in the day or two before that.
However, there is a lot of talk about catching the egg after ovulation but in one study, zero fertilisation occurred from sex after ovulation. It is possible, but less likely than sex just before the LH surge.

The main thing I have discovered is that in order to have the best chance of getting pregnant, make sure there are sperm waiting for the egg to be released. So, given that sperm can last up to 5 days, sometimes up to 7 in the fallopian tubes, sex right before ovulation is very important.

I tracked my cm this month after a chemical pregnancy last month. I had ewcm a week after the chemical and though no way I could be ovulating that soon, but, did an opk and it came back positive. I'm now in the two week wait.

Did you do any baby dancing while you had it?

Thank you. I had loads of symptoms in the tww last cycle, hardly any this cycle so not hopeful but...every pregnancy is different so time will tell.

Yeah we did do it sat and sunday but only then as we've had a busy month been trying for nearly 2 years we have got a fertility app in August. We have got a 3 year old lil girl so I am grateful just to have her. But would love a little brother/sister for her x

According to my apps, I am highly fertile today! They missed the boat by a whole week! I have cream coloured, thick cm and little of it so no chance I'm ovulating. I trust my body more than an app.

It is odd isn't it? All the textbook stuff but we're all still sat here wondering about stuff. Hmmm there's so many grey areas...
It's hard to trust much else apart from that sperm fertilise an egg at some point and around 38 weeks later a baby is born lol xx

The one study basically said that ovulation times in relation to lh surge can vary, speed of ovulation process can vary and speed of disintegration of the egg can vary so the very best chance of conception is to have sperm waiting.

I like that. I like that we know what gives us a best chance.

My fertility doc says it's more realistic that sperm last 3 days in hot weather and 2 days in cold weather.

Yes, I think the 5 days thing is unusual but possible with really healthy sperm and the 6-7 day thing is extremely rare and only with super healthy sperm.

Me & OH Dtd majority of the week leading up to my positive OPK had sex that evening , but were unable to the 2 days after because we were both so tired! I was asleep before he'd even made it home from work .
If the swimmers are strong enough have I covered the best days?

Yeah, I think it applies more if you're not trying to get pregnant, as the chances are low. Best to dtd every other day so you're always ready.

Also my fertility doc said if you are getting a normal period then you are ovulating. If you don't ovulate you can't have a normal period....would be much lighter.
