CM and ovulation

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to work out when I'm going ovulate this month (aren't we all!) and I was wondering if you can help me. I have been trying to study my CM for the last two months but not very well! I can't tell the difference from the creamy to egg whitey stuff - it all looks the same to me. Anyway what I have noticed (which has been exactly the same thing for the last 2 months) is CM in my underwear from 20th - 24th and then I had a side stitch on my right on the 25th but no more CM. (I thought this might be ovulation) The 27th was 14 days before my next period which was when I was due to ovulate. What I'm confused about is that I thought you get CM before and after ovulation? I have bought some OPK's to help for this month. Do you think I should start testing today as it 's the 20th??? By the way I have a 31 day cycle and I'm on CD 11. I hope this makes sense!

If you have a 31 day cycle then you should ov around day 17. But to be on the safe side I would start using opks now just to make sure.
As for cm, you can have it all month. The best way to check is to check inside not just what comes out. I have creamy cm all month but around ov mine sometimes goes wet or ew then goes back to creamy until af arrives.
I read the best way to check insdie is to pop in 2 fingers, sweep one around your cervix then pull the fingers out together and go from there.
