Clomid question - scans

Just wondering if anyone else has started or is starting clomid without having a scan first?

I start my first round of clomid/pregnyl next month, I've been at fertility clinic for 6 months yet never had a scan. I had a normal abdominal scan a couple of years ago to check for cysts but hospital said nothing wrong. I've never had an internal scan to check my ovaries etc. I need to go for one when I'm on CD 8, 10 and 12 though.

What if I have something really wrong with me inside and they don't even know!? Or do u think it's possible the Dr knows I'm prob ok from all other tests and prev scan? She's always saying I got hormone problems. Think I'm just worrying/paranoid!

Hi I didn't have a scan before I started clomid nor did I have one during my first cycle! I only got a scan when I moved up to a higher dose. I already knew I had pcos as this was diagnosed a long time ago so we already knew what the problem was.

I just depends on what your clinic can afford. Mine can't afford to scan every lady on their first round nor can they afford to give a lap & dye before every lady starts treatment whereas these are norms for some hospitals. On the other hand, my hospital will give me an early scan if I do fall pregnant whereas some hospitals won't so it's really different journeys for most women. Yes if you're just on a low dose they might not need to scan you. They must just be trying you on it for now, to see if it helps. It must be a cost issue with the NHS as Belfa says!
