Hi Girls,

I just wanted to find out what everyone's views are with the early detection tests (up to 6 days before period is due)

My dates are below..

first day of last period - 31st Aug
Predicted ovulation - 13th Sept
Expected period 28th Sept
Usual cycle between 28-31 days

Clear blue early detection test BFN yesterday & today...:eh:

They're crap, Id go for a superdrug early detection or a frer x

I believe the clearblue ones are not very sensitive, you might be better off with a first response test.

Thanks both for your replies...
jez its an expensive game isn't it!!!

The superdrug ones are 3 for 2 at the moment I got 6 for £15, If you're like me, id stock up haha

Are those tge superdrug really cheapie ones? There are really cheapie ones and ones that are a bit more expensive.

Try not to worry too much. With my first pregnancy I didn't get a positive until 4 days after my period was due even with the expensive tests. Everyone's hormones are so different ... you're not out until aunt flo visits

Good Luck!!

How soon do you tend to test before your AF is due? x

You're right :) thanks for the reassurance, its so easy to just get consumed by this...
x

I try and hold off until the day of, so I don't drive myself crazy, but even then I find myself trying to look at it under every different light to try and believe there's something there.
Have you seen my calm rational side? I seem to have lost her!

yep I was flashing my camera light into mine trying to find a line

Ive read some of these posts and a lil confused?
There are soo many out there.
The clear blue pregnancy test has a 10mi or whatever it is and claims to be able to detect early upto 6 days , which the frer (first response test i believe) states the same statement so not sure why or how it would show a diff or better result .
Unless it has a lower sensitivity than 10.
Which ones do you suggest give trustworthy result being 1-2 days late?
I what are the experiences like if any with the digital ones as the line ones can be mistaken if ur eyesight poor and which ones do u believe to be good value for money.
Im new to this forum so dont know all the abbreviations yet .

I think FRERs are more sensitive than CB early, though don’t quote me on this.
You’ll see a lot on PF mentioning blue or pink dye tests. Someone here said CBs aren’t great and that’s likely because it’s a blue dye whereas the likes of FRER and Superdrug are pink. Blue dyes can sometimes give Ambigious or evap lines.
Most would only use a digital on the day or likely a few days after missed period - usually to confirm pg after peeing on a thousand cheap tests!
I’d always recommend ICs(internet cheapies) for early testing and confirming later with a frer or Superdrug. I’ve always been fine with Asda and Morrison’s own brand too. Hope that helps and good luck!
