Classic VW Beetles

Hello, i have always desperately loved the classic beetles, i like the new ones too but purse strings won't budge that much

Anyway, DH has finally said i can have one but can't spend over £2000.

Can anyone give me any advice / opinions on the VW bugs - has anyone owned one? Are they cheap to run? etc..

Also, can anyone suggest any good websites where i may be able to buy one except ebay?

Thats a VW website/forum that i am on and they are really helpful with regards to all things dub, although it is mainly a water cooled site they can point you in the right direction of a lovely air cool beetle.

Infact i'm sure there is a lad on there selling one come to think of it

VolksZone is also the place to look, according to DH who's blood type is VW
There are also a hell of alot of Dub magazines with bugs for sale,


PLUS if i were you i'd take a looksie on ebay and then ask for opinions/help on the VW forums

I once burnt my ass on 1 on them leaning agaisnt it, no1 told me the engine was in the boot
