Thinking a bit ahead here but I have no idea what I'm going to get my little girl for Christmas. She will be 8 months old, anyone got any ideas?

ditto no idea, hubby keeps telling me ive bought so much that we'll have run out of ideas for xmas pressies lol...

I know it sounds mean, but I didn't get my lg anything for her first Christmas except a special outfit for the day. She was only 11 weeks old, she had all the toys and clothes she needed and at that age (until about 1) there's no present that they will really appreciate. On her first birthday she had a go at ripping paper off presents but quickly got bored and she really didn't care what they were.

I'm not really after anything that's too big just something that is educational or helps her development at that age. I can totally understand not getting an 11 week something, much too young to appreciate anything at that age!

My little girl will be 6 months and I'm not buying much. In my opinion this year the most important thing is a bright sparkly tree with lots of colour and lights for her to look at. I'll buy a couple of little things and I'll put some money into her account. I know other family will get gifts so I'm not

James' birthday is 6 weeks before Xmas and Bee's 4 weeks after so as well as thinking of gifts for Crimbo I need birthday gifts too.

Have started getting bits for James' birthday already. Bee is going to be mainly clothes or her birthday I think (I'll do it all in the January sales) so just Christmas to sort.

We don't go too mad as they are still so young but I do make a massive deal of Christmas in general - massive tree, lots of food and drink, open house for friends and family, but it will be Bee's first Xmas so I want to get her a few bits. Will be keeping my eyes peeled.

Bee is 8 months now and she is mainly into wires and plugs but I'll link a few (safer) things she likes.

You could get this, although it will be for when baby is older:

We already have all these - they are hand me downs!

Also you can't go wrong with PJ's...

Completely agree it is pointless getting newborns much for Xmas, James was 6 weeks and I think we mainly got him clothes in next size up and a few teddies but Bee is going to be almost 1 for her first Xmas. So excited already lol

Alfie will be 10 months old so I've asked if people can get him those hard books with touchy-feely bits in them and also wooden toys (LOVE wooden toys) and rattles etc. Im sure my OHs mum will make an even bigger day of it than she already does. We are going to my mums in the morning the to OHs in the afternoon for lunch so I don't think he will care too much abouts presents etc.

This week I started ordering a few little gifts. Alfie's present for his daddy arrived today and I got too little bits for both nannys. Not on the high street is fantastic for unique childrens gifts.

Nat, Alfie is also into wires and the moment and sucking the carpet

I have no idea what to get my youngest. He has absolutely everything I could think of already as we kept everything from my eldest.

Thanks for the ideas Carnat! I like the look of the baby walker for her to learn and develop new skills and eventually walking!

I'm not buying my daughter anything until December as obviously, I don't know what her interests will be at 8 months old. She is going to change so much between now and then so just feels pointless contemplating it. Saying that I have in my mind a fancy baby walker as she'll be wanting to sofa surf and get on her feet by then (at least my son did anyway!).

Our girly will be 6 months. We are buying and wrapping any nice clothes for that age group, got some lovely bits in jojomamabebe . Bought a puzzle and a stacking ring, going to get a nice bedtime story book as her main present. And in her stocking wrap some baby snacks, my niece got some finger puppets her first xmas.

I don't know what friends or family you have round you, but my little one will probably be getting one gift from us, and a mountain of gifts from others. He'll be 7 months at Christmas.

I'm thinking a nice outfit, and I'll choose the gift closer to the time I think, but right now, maybe I'll get a Christmas themed build a bear or a personalised storybook or something like that. They can use but also keep.

We won't get much for either child - Malachy will only be 4 months and Riley has that much crap already we can't fit much more in! I'm gonna get Riley a seesaw type thing, some more books, interactive toys. I'll probably be getting Malachy some new toys for the playmat and some new clothes, that's about it!

Kumber I love your description of that much crap! Our house is bursting at the sides with all our boys crap! Half the stuff my eldest doesn't playwwith cos it's too babyish, but the youngest is still too little to use it.

Sounds about right! Drives me potty, I've banned any more gufts from relatives between now and Christmas otherwise it will just get ridiculous.

I have four children my youngest will be four months at Christmas. I have already bought him a space saver Jumperoo that's half price at boots. He won't be able to open anything, so I'm going to get him involved with my other Children, so he will have Christmas Eve Pj's and special new clothes for Christmas Day.
If I get him anything it will be clothes mainly because that's what he will need.

My other three I've already started buying for, I have a Christmas gift app on my phone, tracking what I've bought and spent xx

I saw the space saver jumperoo. Wish this had existed a few years ago when we lived in a much smaller place lol. We've got a full sized one and Bee loves it.

I use to have a big one to for my daughter. She loved it, kept her entertained whilst I cleaned up. I gave it away. I don't have the space unfortunately this time :( xx

Luckily I'm getting passed down a jumperoo, I'm glad as they're pricey!
