Choosing between two names for a boy

We have many reasons for loving both of these names, but don't want to affect your reactions! Any thoughts, preferences, or side-effects/coincidences we haven't thought of, for a boy:

Alexander
Maximilian

I like both.. both are likely to be shortened to Alex and Max, but as long as you don't mind that then it's all good! I prefer Alexander

Also like both and I also prefer Alexander. I prefer both the full name and the options for shortening, Alex, Sander, Xander etc.

Both names are nice but I like Alexander better

Both are nice, but I really like Alexander, and all the shortened versions of it.
