Ouch hun...you had it bad!!!

I slipped a disc in my lower back about 4 years ago, it had me in tears it was that painful. I went to see a physiotherapist which did help, but for the first week I really couldn't move without searing pain.
If you can prop your bum on some pillows this may help a little, it did with me and using an alternate hot and cold compress, 5 minutes each on your back.

I am a bit concerned about you blacking out though, did you mention this to the doctor, although I have passed out due to pain before!

Hope you feel better soon babe and remember what I've mentioned helped me, but I would still run it past your doctor

I've had problems with my sacro illiac joints for a while and have put my back/hip out twice (which was agony!). Poor you...your pain sounds severe and you should definately not have to put up with it. In my opinion you need to probably have an x-ray to rule out a slipped disc or a trapped nerve. I would also suggest more of a long term solution like an osteopath or physiotherapy rather than a chiropractor. Chiropractors can help but i think it's best to identify where or what the pain is associated with first before cracking bones around! Where abouts is the pain? I get mine around my lower back/hips and sciatic pain down my legs. Go back to your dr's a demand a referal to a specialist...don't take no for an answer :shakehead:

Yowser! That's bad mid, you must have been in extreme pain to pass out!

I have slipped discs in my neck that go every now and then. The doc gave me tramadol, or as I like to call it, smack! It totally ko's me and I couldn't take it the last time I buggered my neck as I had tootsie to look after.

I've used a chiropractor and an osteopath before. I found the osteopath more helpful, but you still won't be right for a while as all the muscles in your back will be in spasm!

i found my osteo helped fair more then a chiropractor , i too did my scrollioac joint as part of SPD in pregnancy and couldnt move sometimes but he sorted it and infact by the time i gave birth my spd had nearly gone . I pay about £40 per session tho but luckly claim it back through work health plan policy

I would also suggest a visit to an osteopath - my helped lots with both me and Danica! But prepare yourself for a painful session :D But it works! No pain no again (unfortunately)

I was fixed in 2 sessions but I my problem wasn't that bad. We need to take Danica at least 4 times. But the improvements were amazing: my back feels like new! Good luck and tell us how it went!

Poor you!
I think you have to have suffered from back pain to realise how horrific the pain of a bad back is.
About 10 years ago, I slipped a disc in my back and pushed 4 bones in my spine out of place....by sneezing!
I was in America on holiday at the time with three friends. I was in a world of agony.
Eventually managed to get hold of a chiropractor who came to the apartment and treated me for three days before I could fly home.
I then saw a chiropractor on and off for a year afterwards.
I found it to be really, really helpful. Well...more than helpful...he fixed it.
You might be able to get a referral through your GP?
Worth asking. I was lucky...i had Bupa through work who covered all the costs. Fixed my back up though!
Get well soon. So sorry...bloody rotten for you.
Lxx

EDIT: Kazlin's suggestion of hot/cold compresses is really good too. That's what the Yankie Chiropractor recommended too. Frozen peas then hot water bottle.
