Childminder or Nursery??

Childminders generally have do do lots of courses etc I think.

I looked into doing it and you have to do first aid and have your house inspected etc. They offer you loads of other stuff too, courses in playwork and childcare qualifications etc.

dont quote me but i read in a magazine that there is now government run nurseries for people who cant afford the silly amounts of the private ones..worth looking into sami, they are meant to be really cheap and depending on your income you can get money off them too :) cas xx

child minders can be just as expensive. i was paying £38 a day for mine.

just get one, one day a week, but you will have to pay her evey week even if he dont go?

I live in a tiny town babe, I'd need somewhere I could walk to. Thank you for letting me knwo though :)

I guess I won't get anything because technically, I am off work to look after him, not because of my own mental health issues with PND. I guess it isn't thier problem :?

It doesn't seem to be that expensive round here looking at this website... clicky

For half a day (or about 4 hours) would be about £14

It's nursery all the way for me.....I am biased. Like Beanie said, Rebecca has a keyworker who looks after her, and when I pick her up I get a daily report on wet/soiled nappies, milk/food intake, sleeps etc. I love the fact that Rebecca is getting social interraction skills with other children and that she has to learn to wait for things as opposed to getting what she wants.

As for childminders (my mum used to be one, but is now a fostercarer) I'd get really jealous of someone individually spending so much time with Rebecca, and her building a strong bond with them - my insecurities.

Sami the only down fall with nurseries is that they catch everything that's going - chicken pox, gastrointeritous u name it! :wall:

does anyone on here take their child to a leapfrog (ex jigsaw) nursery?
