CHILD TAX CREDIT

I was under the impression that if you have a child under the age of 1 you auto got a min of £1090, so why have we only been awarded £745????

Can anyone tell me if my first thoughts are correct or incorrect?

Is it because you have applied part-way through the tax year so you don't get the full entitlement???

I'm not sure what we have been awarded cos the paperwork hasn't arrived yet although we have had money in the bank already. But I thought that what you were awarded was dependent on your household income because I know that we are only just within their pay brackets so we only get somewhere between £700 and £1000 (I think!)

I dont know why it goes on last years earnings, as I didnt have a baby last year, and I was not on SMP so, didnt need all the money I could get my hands on. Now Im earning sod all, were still not entitled to a great deal, however next year, i'll be able to claim and get something half decent im sure as i'll have earnt sod all this tax year. How backward is that, when I am back at work, I can get even more money, but while im not, I am entitled to nothing.

we got some deducted because of wages last year too

silly thing is , credits go down after the reach one so whats the blooming point

it really gets my goat & i told the poor woman today, heres us trying to make something of our lives and get somewhere where as there are people out there who dont wana better themselves or who havent done anything since leaving school they getting more than us. It isnt my fault half of them are farrr to better themselves.
