weve been given some money to open a child savings account ( sperate from the account that the child tax vouncher thing will go into )

any one got anythign to reccomend ?

online looks like the best two are nationwide or halifax . our joint accoutn is with nationwide at mo and weve both been with halifaz in the passed so neither of these are an issue !

who did u choose? and why ? and did u get freebies :rotfl:

I opened Maddison's savings account with HSBC but only coz me and hubby already have accounts with them, no other reason

i opened jayde a savings account at hsbc but only because we have accounts there

Halifax savings account!! It has 10.00% interest for a year CLICKY
The only thing is you would have to have a regular standing order of minimum £10 - maximum £100 per month & you cannot make any withdrawls in that 1 year unless you close the account. After that year is up the account will transfer to another savings account of your choice.

We opened Jake a savings account with Abbey because me and OH are with them. I think the account we opened is called a flexible saver and has a good interest rate. I have got a book and I just take it in to Abbey with any money I want to pay in and they print it in the book. I can withdraw the money whenever I like and Jake has no control over it meaning that I can choose when to let him have the money. The CTF money can be withdrawn by your child when they reach 18 whether you like it or not.

My 3 all have saving accounts in the nationwide cos that's where we bank. There trust funds are with them too. I got there first statements through last month and was quite pleased with the interest. The online facilities are good with them also :)
