cheap little dippy-stick tests

do they work early or not? idk how early i am tbh coz this is my first month off pill and dont know my cycle length. wednesday is 28 days since first day of mc so *if* its 28 days i am 2 days early. i wanted to take some pills today so i did a test one of those 89p home bargains dippy-stick tests, it was a BFN

does this mean i'm not pg or i am more than 2 days early, or do these tests not work anyway until AF is due?

Seems different ladies have more luck than others with them hun. I't been shown on here that some times it shows a BFP 3 days before af would be due, yet others is doesn't till a couple of days after af due time. I wouldn't take it as a BFN till af showed up to be honest!
