Hi Claire - I was 13 weeks yesterday but my first scan is on Tuesday.

I think my pains are trapped wind / constipation. I am a bit bunged up to say the least, and if I have a little gas emission (trying to be polite here!) then I feel better! Sorry if that's tmi!!

I remember my lower back was really sore to begin with - I think that's quite normal. It was one of the things that made me test early.

Anyway, i am still in my pj's so best go and get showered and into town to meet my mum. Ooh - I got my hair done yesterday, it's the shortest it's been in years and the hairdresser went a bit mad with the blonde highlights (I checked - quite safe!) so I think I look quite different. My mum will probaby hate it though!

babydust will they not tell you sex of the baby at your 20 week scan? they do here if they can see glad all is going ok xxx

well girls not much happening here ive not been on the chat thread much as i felt very uncomfortable and to be honest i dont think i need it at the moment its supposed to be for us all to keep track of each other and general chat dont want to come on and be upset which i was last week think we all have enough to worry about without worrying on here too

off down mother in laws today for a lovely cooked dinner mmmmmm im starving the sickness has more or less gone which is nice but worrying roll on thursday so i can check on my babies

I know rach i cant go back to how i was last time I was a hippo, so glad your sickness has gone now hun, get munching. Have you invested in a doppler? They are ace, im hoping ill get mine out again soon, how do you know which heart beats which though thats what i wana know

mel i bought a doppler on christopher off 1 of the girls on here its fab but i couldnt find a heartbeat with it till i was about 16 weeks (prob as im a larger lady ) this time im not even going to try till much later maybe 20 weeks i will see what happens when the midwife does it and see if there heart rates are different so il know more of what im looking for if they are boy and girl 1 should be faster than the other plus im sort of hoping that whatever side they are on by then they should stay on that side i assume anyway lol we will see im a few weeks from that yet lol xxxxxxxx

Hi Everyone!
Thought I would join in too....hope thats ok!!!?!

I was reading through the posts and saw you guys mentioning the doppler thingy again... how much are these?! also at what week can you pick up a heartbeat on it?! I'm only 8 + 2 weeks (or in my 9th, however you look at it!) so probably a bit early!!

Also, did anyone here get a private scan before their 12 weeks scan?....just to check everything is ok....????

One last thing, bit of a moan (all emotional today!) I've been getting an on off pain in my lower left back....comes and goes, sometimes feels sharp, sometimes feels like a tightening....maybe i've pulled something? any ideas?!

Other than that, I hope eveyone is well!!

sorry not been round overweekend, been so busy had my mates baby overnight he only just gone keeps me on my toes lol.

Well yesturday morning morning sickness paid me a visit i was sick 2 times was not very nice

hello everyone!!

i hope you are having a nice sunday,i went out for dinner today with my mum,stepdad and mike,they have done out a restaurant near us and it was lovely,we had a carvery,i could not eat a pudding (with is usually my favourite part) as i felt so full!
my mum and stepdad are so pleased for us!
we have told mikes aunt as well who was beside herself!!
i am going to tell my boss at work soon but not tell anyone else til i am further on,as i feel im tempting fate abit!?
i would love to buy a doppler! they sound great and i can imagine it is a reassurance to hear the babys heartbeat!

Hi Claire

I'm apprehensive about telling work....main reason being that I only started with them in the middle of May (only though the door 5 mins and then I'll be off again!).... we've only told immediate family so far....think we too are worried about tempting fate!!
With work,.....I think i'm going to wait until I'm going for my 12 week scan....so it may be easier to get the time off....

Glad you had a lovely day! Mine was uneventful! OH just back from a Stag weekend so he's snoozing on the couch hungover at the moment!

im abit wary about telling work also.
i have worked for the company for 2 1/2 years,after i started i had major knee surgery which had me laid up for 3 months after an accident i had,i was off in january this year as i pulled 3 discs in my spine and then i had 3 weeks off in march after my sister died,they have been really good to me and have given me full pay but i feel im taking the mick abit now!!
hope it goes well for you telling them!

I have actually phoned in sick today as I was up all night coughing and sneezing. I feel totally drained and didn't want to make myself worse or pass on my germs. What it means is I have all day to worry about my scan tomorrow instead of keeping busy at work
I would love to be catching up on my sleep but they are replacing the gas mains on our road. It's really noisy and they have already knocked on the door to say they will need access at some point and will be switching off our gas for the day.
I'm just full of moans today, sorry!

awww hun i know what you mean im dreading mine on thursday just want it out of the way now im working today and 2moro but off wednesday and thursday so i dare say il be dwelling on my scan all day the day before im sure you will be fine hun what time is your scan?xxxxxx

I have just got back from the GP's - just sat and chatted - he will contact the midwifes and arrange for them to get in touch with me officially. He had had the scan results from the hospital and was chuffed. We talked through my worries and he is so down to earth it was lovely. He explained that having seen the heartbeat he felt my risks of miscarriage had reduced a bit and that really nothing I do know could change the outcome A bit of what is meant to be is meant to be. He was encouraged that I feel queasy and asked if I had actually been sick, now he has worried me as I said only twice and he replied it was the only time he liked his patients to "hurl!!!" He said to be glad my boobies were sore and also that I was getting mild cramps and that is a sign that my ligaments were stretching and laughed that I keep on falling asleep saying it was a good sign too.... All in all he was very laid back - didnt check my tummy or anything just gave me a hug and sent me on my way...... Now I have to wait for the midwife to get in touch - does anyone know when you usually see a midwife?

Hope everyone else is OK - Claire I cannot believe you are in 2nd Tri or you Sally - it doesnt seem 2 minutes since we were all in chartstalkers!

rom your dr sounds really nice mine is a pig as for when you see the midwife i havent seen mine yet, i think it because the hospital have been doing most of my care, but i havent had any bloods or anything done yet . yeh i cant beleive in in 2nd tri, seems like just yesterday we were charting and looking at lines on sticks, dh said at the weekend that he misses ttc i wonder why
