Had Ruby Edith McCoy all the way through, but SO many people are calling thier girls Ruby around here.....

We were chatting tonight and we like Niamh now (pronounced Neve)...

What do you think?? Niamh Edith McCoy?

Like it??

i like both but i actually prefer Ruby

but i know what u mean about names being popular, i have that problem with calling ours Jack, but me and my OH just love that name so much. and its weird becoz when i was at school it was a very rare name. annoying how it changes

I like niamh too, my friends daughters name but I have to say I love Ruby too!

I prefer Ruby too, sorry  It doesn't matter if everyone else is calling their babies Ruby, i have only seen a couple i think!! Its not asif you're all gonna meet up everyday, so it shouldn't let it spoil what name you've chose (i think the full name goes really well)

Thanks girls, I LOVE Ruby...I reckon we will stick with original choice if we have a girl

My birth stone is Ruby, and she is likely to have reddsh hair as it runs in our family (I am strawberry blonde), so Ruby would be just perfect for her

yeah i think you should stick to the name you love :)
whats ur name if its a boy?

Arran David McCoy-bubba was concieved on holiday in Isle of Arran, Scotland, so we thought it was appropriate  (very Victoria Beckham of me huh!!?? :rotfl: ) and David after a very dear friend of mine who passed away last christmas

The Edith was my nanna, and also Lees nannas name so thats really special to us both too

I think Ruby is gorgeous but Niamh is very pretty and exotic I think and is defo less common than Ruby, I know its a popular name at the moment like you say.

But that aside, your baby will have that name for life so choose what you really love :cheer:

I think Niamh is a beautiful name, we were going to call our baby that if it was a little girl both the first time around and this time but both times it has been a boy.
Good Luck.x

i like niamh but would still be tempted to spell it neve as it looks bugger all like it sounds :D

I have to say I love the name Niamh but being Irish I am slightly biased, and sorry to say it Sassyminx but I hate seeing it misspelt I think its a shame its a lovely old name from the legends sorry don't mean to be rude.
