changing maternity leave dates

hey peeps.
wondering if someone can help me - im due to finish for maternity leave end of this week, but i am really struggling and am so tired as not sleeping and struggling with the 45 min drive to and from work each day.
i wondered whether it is possible for me to finish now and start my leave today or whether i would need to give suitable notice....i dont see it being a prob as work for a really small employer, but just wanted to know if it would effect my entitlement or not.

I think by rights you have to give 28 days notice to change the date.

I dont think your employer will have a problem if you have a good boss.

Yeah legally it's 28 days notice, but i gave my work 14days anyway. If you only have 3 days left then you should be ok.

If you are having problems then you could still get signed off sick. i dont think they will pay you SSP but should at least allow you to bring your maternity forward.
