Isaac's started waking at 5am  He was happily sleeping 7-7 for months now, and he has been teething lately but has a lot recently and its not affected his waking before. Could it be to do with his Dad's work shift patterns changing? Only I can't think of anything else that's changed. It also means he then has a 3hr mid-morning nap  and a power nap around 2-3pm, lasting about 45mins. Why's he changed his waking/sleeping times? Thankyou in advance for any suggestions

Hi RedShoes

Seems like it's quite common for babies to have disruption to their routine at this age. I read about it on the Pampers monthly email a few weeks back. I think it's something to do with their brain being so active, learning loads and trying to process it all. Of course it could also be teething so you might want to treat that if you think it is. I got some good teething granules from the health food shop. They are called Teetha and seemed to help George for a few days when I used them.

George is also waking a lot earlier these days... like anything from between 5am and 6.30am. I have found he's ready for another sleep straight after his morning bottle though so often we both go back to my bed for a nap. He then has his proper breakfast at 9ish. This works out ok at the moment but I'm going back to work this week :( So it's all change again.

Hope this helps you and if not then have a hug

OMG this is exactly what my boy was/ is doing. Went thru 2 weks of waking between 5 and 5.30. It has calmed down a bit and it back to 6 ish,but hw does need another sleep about an hour to an hour and a half after waking up.

As soon as his eyes open he crawls flat out to the end of the cot stands and shouts for me! nooooooo

George has another tooth come through this morning. I wonder if that has anything to do with this new weird sleeping pattern.

Also, I did the controlled crying last night. First night of doing it and it took 40 mins for him to get off to sleep. :( However, during the night he woke once and then went back to sleep by himself and slept till 7.15
