I've seen a cesarean belt at mothercare for £19.99 says it helps recovery and eases pain etc. anyone know if these actually work? Not sure where to post this to find some feedback?

Thanks

I have spent a while looking into these, as I am having a planned section, think the mothercare one seems ok as its aim is to help make thinks more comfortable. I decided to go with a Belly Bandit in the end - give general abdominal support after having baby though also offers help to muscles and scar while healing and helps swelling go down.
I haven't tried it yet as due next week but reviews seem good, it started in the US so manly sites and reviews are US based though can be bought in the UK - I have attached a couple of links.

it is a bit more expensive - though hope it will be worth it!

To be honest, having experienced two sections, normal movement as much as you can as soon as you can after a section is the best way to aid healing and recovery (obviously without any heavy lifting).

I'd agree with Ella. I too have had 2 secs and never heard of this!

I'd say norm is better :-)

Looking at how they fit, they say the belt should cover the scar, mine is really low down and I don't think if will cover it!

The hospital gave me one after I had my first lo (emergency c section too). I didn't think it would be useful, but the extra support was wonderful. Also, getting up and about (a little at a time, without doing too much) helped speed up my recovery.

Oh, and my scar is down very very low - the belt was still helpful.
