Hi ladies I know my booklet will tell me but I keep forgetting to get it and actually look. Will the midwife be checking my cervix at my 36 week check up or later on? Also I have had a so many period type cramps on and off today also a few sharp fanny daggers I don't know if baby is just getting lower but I know it's part and and parcel of being pregnant now just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this too? Xxx

I didnt have my cervix checked at my 36 week check, have my 38 week one tomorrow and never even occurred to me that she might, I think they'll just wait until due date but could be wrong! Ive had similar pains on and off too and I assumed that it was due to baby getting lower too xx

I didn't have any cervix checks until my 40wk appointment when she did a sweep. Think different trusts have different policies though depending if you're a FTM or not, if not it might be 41 weeks.

I've not had anything either yet, booked in for my first sweep next week if baby doesn't show up before.
I don't think there is a specific cervix check that they do unless I've missed something!

Cervix checks aren't routine until you're in sweep territory and even then you have to request one, well, as far as I am aware! So 40+ weeks xxx

Yup, 40 weeks+ is when you'll be offered sweeps,. At 36 weeks you're not term so they won't go near your foof. Fanny daggers are baby engaging and period pains are braxton hicks. I've been having birth from about 32 weeks onwards and daily.
