I have been using the IC OPK's since my TTC journey started and i am thinking of swapping over to the CB kit.
What are your views on both ladies? There has only been one cycle where i have had a peak on the IC's so wondering if the CB might be more accurate for me...
So my main question is, is it worth paying the extra??

I didnt use the digi ones, anything cheap for me  If you feel you arent getting on with the IC's then maybe see how you get on with them.

Whats the cost implications?x

I can get the CB one on ebay for £16 and that is for 10. Obviously can get the cheapies for so much cheaper so i am just not sure what to do xx

Cheapies have always worked for me, I've spent out enough on all the other ttc stuff, so I'll stick with them.

I think cheapies would be fine for you combined with temping, just make sure you BD every other day using the Conceive Plus during your fertile window and if you see a positive/close to positive OPK on the day you are not due to BD, BD with the Conceive Plus again.

If you want to splurge this cycle and see how CB digi ones work for you, then do it! x

I like the cb digi opks a lot. It’s a lot less stressful trying to work out if the line is actually dark enough on cheapies. Plus you can use them with fmu, cheapies always say not to.

I tend to start them 2 or 3 days before what day I think I’ll ovulate so I actually only ever end up using a few sticks per cycle.

Probably a waste of money for me at this point as been ttc far too long, but I got 3 big boxes last year from amazon on sale. They tell me when to expect AF at least so theyve never been wrong for me :wall2:

There are 2 kinds of Clear blue ones that I have seen. One that gives you the choice of yes or no, either there is an empty circle or a smiley face and there is the other kind that gives you yes no and then a flashing smiley face for 'really yes'! I used the yes or no option and I liked it because it saved me having to work out which was darkest. It also meant I only had to test once a day because we would have bankrupted myself testing anymore frequently (£60 for a 7 pack here!) as well as dehydrated trying to save my pee!

I tried ICs for one cycle and never got a peak. So the next month I tried the clearblue as well as the ICs. I didn't get a peak on either but I did get pregnant. So if ICs don't work for you, clearblue might not either.

Get the CB digi. It's brilliant. I got my first smiley flashing face this morning. U know exactly what's going on with it. It's worth the 30 quid

I was using CBs but one month I got a faulty one and another one I got no positive even though I got a pos on strips so it put me off. They are more sensitive.

I get a reading no matter where I am in my cycle with ICs! But that is due to my pcos I think.

I changed to CBS, I have only had one solid smiley on them but that month I did have a cp so I am fairly confident that they pick it up.

I like them because it’s a clear yes or no and you can see your fertile window coming with the flashing smileys if you use the cb advanced opks.

When I have been speaking to a fertility clinic they were very interested in whether I have used them and the results when discussing my cycle so they obviously consider them fairly reliable.

Also I find super easy as it uses fmu, with ICs, I found it a bit stressful monitoring my drink/peeing so that I could have concentrated enough urine.

I would suggest giving them a go for a cycle and seeing if they are actually worth it for you. They're expensive if they're not!!

I tried them but they didn't actually give me anything extra over the cheapies. Cheapies worked well for me and I definitely had a clear pattern. Once I got the hang of them, there was no question when I had my peak. I found doing them when I came in from work was a good time for me to have a decent hold as I've got a bit of a drive home. I didn't temp as I could never get on with it but the cheapies alone predicted AF nearly perfectly every cycle and we were TTC for a long time.

Bit of advice please ladies - anyone that is using or has used the advanced CB opks. Is it normal to get 5 days of solid circles?
I am wondering if I am going to ov later this cycle than last cycle? I am cd12 today and last cycle I ov’d on cd14 so I’d that is the case this cycle I would be getting a flashing smiley by now won’t I?
Thing is I only have 5 opks left now so I don’t want to use them all and end up missing my ov. What do you suggest I do? Use some cheap internet ones for a couple of days?
I just love the fact I can drink as much water as I want all day and don’t have to hold my pee with the CB.
Help!!!!

I'd order more CB tests and carry on. I know when I use the CB monitor it said it might not show a positive ov sign as the test is getting use to my own levels of hormone and surges etc. It could be that this month it doesn't show at all, but nolext month will show perfectly. Or it might be that you won't get a gradual surge and instead just get a sudden quick surge on the day. Either way, keep going! Can you use the cheapies as a back up? Xx

Hi, i found i was using cheapies and NOT getting positive opks (last 2 cycles)
This month i used cheapies and did with FMU every day from cd:10 to confirmed O. Low and behold i get positive opks again :) 3 days in a row followed by a negative and the morning after the negative get a temp spike and now confirmed O.

My point being cheapies can get FMU positives. I used one step 25 for £3 something ridiculous cheap.

I started my ttc journey on clear blue and found it too expensive to do and not worth it in the end.

How my opks worked with FMU i was so pleased! I used FMU for one step opks and got 3 days + one day - and ask you can see day of - i ovulated :)
Id say try a cycle where you use cheapies with FMU they worked for me and took such a stress out as i wasnt getting positive opks using afternoon/evening urine

I did an IC with my FMU too (i saved it lol) and that also come back negative. I was wondering if i would see a different result but obviously not.
I am going to carry on with the CB with FMU and also use a IC every morning until i see a difference.
Obviously i am going to ovulate later this cycle.
How annoying that my cycles have become so irregular!!

I would say youre pos ovulating later. My cycles were crazy at start now im at 28 days (not had that for ages!) and pos due to weight loss.. if it helps u relax use both cheap opks and clearblue every morning see what difference is..
Also have u added recent supplements? Sometimes that throws body off.. i was taking anything n everything at the start in a desperate attempt to get pregnant fast and it messed my cycles up at the start of my ttc journey

Yeah i must be ovulating later which is frustrating.
I am going to carry on from now on using both opk's with my FMU. i am not going to be holding my pee and stop with drinking water because i end up going all day without a drink and thats not healthy.
I haven't added any new supplement specifically this cycle apart from Robitussin but that wouldn't effect it.
God knows i am sure to just sit and wait for ov. x
