do any of you lovely ladies have ANY advice on how I can ease carpel tunnel syndrome????

It's fooking doing my head in!! Every night I can't sleep and not because baby is making it uncomfortable but because my hand is either completely and utterly numb or because the inside of my arm is really painful from the elbow to the wrist :x :x :x

I've tried all the book tips of sleeping with it propped up and drinking loads of fluids...which just makes me pee all night  ... and nothing is working and I just need a good nights sleep

I get it all through the night and for the first couple of hours or so after I've woken up..... I've sent DH to work with some right horrible sandwiches because I'm trying to make his lunch with a hand I can't feel... :rotfl: :rotfl: I think he deserves a decent buttie at least

cheers ladies

You need to get refered to physio and get wrist braces to keep your arms in the right position over night, I went to the doctors about my carpel tunnel quite late but they refered me to physio at the hospital who gave me wrist braces to wear at night can't tell you if they helped really though cause I gave birth just a couple of days later so haven't really used them! :rotfl:

Hi Chrissy

I have carpal tunnel syndrome so I can really sympathise, mine started early in pregnancy at 20 something weeks and I am now 36 weeks and I hate to say this but mine got worse.

My hands (mainly fingers) keep me awake throughout the night burning but I also don't get any relief in the day when they are numb and stiff. I also keep dropping things cause I can't fee how tightly I am holding them!! I don't have it in my little fingers or the fingers next to the little ones.

I did see physio and get wrist splints but I didn't fing it made any difference and I would wake up after an hour in pain and rip them off!

If you find anything that does help I would love to know about it, on the plus side I am told it eases quickly after baby is born and I am sure I will be so busy cuddling LO that I won't notice

No advice to give but just wanted to send you  s. Hopefully you'll find something to ease the pain

You can buy wrist splints at chemists or probably order them online. It will help.

Mine got quite bad towards the end and could never open the bedroom door when I needed a wee (every hour  ) as my hands were so numb.

The first week after Connie was born I had trouble with poppers and nappies but it's sooooo much better now, only a little numbness occasionally.

Just found this on ebay, there will probably be cheaper ones.

I had this with Hope and i get it now, especially when i write things or push the pram ect, my hand just goes numb. I told my mid wife and she gave me a splint i think, if you cant get one of those try tuby grip for your hand, the pressure on your wrist should help ease it a little
