Hi all,

I'm now looking at group 1 car seats and I really need one that is compatable with isofix and can also be used with seat belt only. Otherwise il need to buy two car seats which I would rather avoid if possible. I prefer isofix and this will be the most used option but my mum who will be lookig after lo a few days a week will need seat belt only.

If anyone has any recommendations it would be really appreciated
Xx

I have a joie I-anchor which is a new isize seat and that can be used with isofix or seat belt.

You might want to check out the Facebook group car seat advice for mummy and daddies as they are very helpful and have lots of experience

Owe thank you il have a look at this seat and the fb page, you have been really helpful! Thanks :) x

I had the Maxi Cosi Priori XP for my LO. One of the most highly recommended/safest on the market. Xx

We have an Axkid Minikid which I love, it's a brilliant seat (but obviously you'd have to check it fits in your car - the facebook group mentioned above are brilliant for stuff like that). In case you can't find it, the link to the group is here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/289434267864378/?fref=ts

The seat we have is seatbelt only, not isofix, but I've found that's not really a problem because it's not like with infant carriers where you're taking it in and out of the car everyday. Swapping it between cars doesn't take very long, and as long as you follow the instructions it's just as safe as an isofix seat :)

Axkid do make a seat (the Duofix) that can be installed with isofix or seatbelt until 18kg and then seatbelt only until 25kg, but it's more expensive (and massively heavy because of the isofix base which in most group 1 seats are attached to the seat, not like infant carrier bases), and not really worth the extra I don't think.

Other seats that can be isofix and seatbelt are the Klippan Triofix Recline (which is expensive, but is supposed to last until your child is 12 years old!) and the Klippan KISS 2, but I've not used either of those seats so not sure what they're like :)

Thank you so much Jajis for your suggestions I will look into these, you have made such a good point about not nescessarilly needing isofix as your so right next stage seat I won't be moving that often this will definately open up my options! Thank you xx

Jajis I'm getting the axkid when LO outgrows his infant carrier, I can't wait! I also love that Facebook group, I think I'm abit of a pest on there sometimes but oh well
