car seat dilema!!

i bought lucy a car seat from 0months to 4 yours. it states to turn around when baby reaches 9 kg, well she is near enought that weight now and only 4 months!!. they are apparently 9 months when they reach this weight.the question is if any one can advise, can ikeep the car seat facing back or do i need to get another one!! the instructions dont mention if you have abigger younger baby!! thanks in advance xx

I think it's just a guide, you should only put her forward facing if she can sit unaided for 30 minutes and her head is at the top of the seat. If she doesn't have the head control, forward facing wouldn't be safe enough for her in an accident. Is she comfortable in her seat? X

she is terrible in the car, but dont think its her seat. she is still in her infant carrier but im not sure what weight she can stay in that one!! wish id kept boxes etc its a graco one!!. i defo want her to be safe so wont be looking at turning her round yet but do think she may be happier in a forward facing seat but not going to rush it for safetys sake.think i may look for one she can stay in longer x

It might just be a phase. Zac went through a screaming in the car phase. Have a look online, and see when the infant carrier can be used until. I have a maxi cosi one which says up to 9 months, but zac is still fine in it and has about an inch of headroom. I will be keeping him in in as long as possible xx

They can stay in an infant car seat until theyre 13kg I believe

Thanks ladies. She is that bad I have resorted to putting her favourite cartoon on in DVD player!! Bad I know but I get so distracted and scared I lose concentration and may have a crash. Does the trick though just shame it has to resort to that!! . I'm going ti keep her in her carrier as long as poss xx
