Can't stop coughing

OMG I'm going bonkers with this cough ... it kept me and OH awake all night

Its really dry and chesty and I'm taking the glycerin stuff but it doesn't work. I dont know what to do ... I'm so tired.

I got out of bed to let OH sleep because we (He) have a lot of work to do in our new house today

Any better natural remedies out there?

I have a cough too, its got to be pregnancy related.
I still sometimes sound like I smoke 40 a day when in fact I dont smoke at all.

Its so annoying but I'm not using anything, though I feel I should as its possibly going on 6wks now. x

Charliebear - you should get your cough checked out since it has been going on so long, just in case it is a chest infection.

It's a lesser known pregnancy symptom that we produce more mucus, so have blocked up noses and, if it gets on your chest, a cough.

Tweetyfoo - you have my sympathy. I can never sleep with a cough. If you really can't bear it, there are other cough medicines that aren't known to be harmful in pregnancy (which is the best they ever seen to do in reassuring us about medicines!). Best avoided if you can, but if you are not sleeping you may make the choice that is potentially more harmful.

Sorry you're suffering I used to get a lot of coughs, and found that most cough medicine only worked for about 20 mins anyway! Hope it's better soon.

I had quite a bad cough at the beginning of my pregnancy, which drove me crazy. I found a hot honey and lemon drink helped soothe it, but in the end the doctor did give me some pregnancy safe cough mixture. Hope you feel better soon xxx

Think I'll see how I get on the rest of the weekend. Took my inhalers which seems to have helped hopefully I'll get some sleep tonight! Thanks ladies x
