With our first child we found out the sex (little girl) and we were both over the moon - either way we would have been - but I can't tell you how much I love having a daughter.

We never told anyone the sex and my oh's family all assumed we were having a boy - so much so they went out and bought blue clothes/cards/teddy's etc. they are farmers so are desperate for a boy to carry on farm (oh brother has a little girl)

This really got me down as I felt this was their way of saying what they wanted.

Anyways out she popped and everyone was shocked - but over the moon.

Anyways we are not wtt for baby2 - but I'm already nervous about if its another girl - not for me or oh as we both said 2 girls would be brilliant - but my oh family. And no2 will be our last so it's our last chance for a boy. Not that we mind!

Every time anyone has a boy my MIL goes on about how lovely it's a boy and little boys are the best etc - my sister has two boys and mil says how lucky she is etc and it's quiet hurtful when I'm sat there with her beautiful granddaughter on my knee!

Just needed to vent! Xx

I don't have a baby yet, but I adore kids and as the aunt of 3 nephews I was chuffed to find out my OH's sister was having a girl doesn't mean I will favour her over the boys, your MIL is being a bit unfair and putting pressure on you in something you cannot really control, I'd suggest having a word with her and explaining it makes you feel hurt and upset maybe she'll stop going on about it? I am sorry she's putting this kind of pressure on you, big hugs xx

Thanks violet - I think I'm probably taking it to heart more than I should as well - my mil probs doesn't even realise what she's doing ( we normally get on quiet well - as well as you can with a mil!) it's just sad that I know if we have another girl ill be upset knowing that they are disappointed - even tho we as parents won't be!

May not even be an issue if we have a boy - although I feel like I'm destined to have girls!! X

We stayed team yellow, and my dad went on and on about how little boys were the best blah blah blah! My first born was a pink bundle! I reminded him of what he'd said, and he shrugged it off as he just loved his first grandchild and it didn't matter. My second baby was a boy and I wondered if my dad would be have a new favourite, but you know what, him and my dd are as close as ever, they're both absolutely obsessed with each other lol! My boy doesn't get a look in! Good job he loves nana!

I have two girls and its lovely, they can share toys/clothes and im hoping when older can play girly things together (14 month gap) it would have been nice to have one of each but there is pluses to both, don't let it worry you xx

I come from a family of two girls and we are so close (me my mum and sister) that I would love that sort of relationship! So two girls would be AMAZING!

Maybe it's just old fashioned farmer views that they need a boy to carry in name/farm! But I guarantee if we are lucky enough to have 1 of each - it'll be DD who will be tractor obsessed and getting stuck in the mud and we'll have a boy who probably loves dance classes and shopping with mummy! Xxx

I have 4 boys and would sooooo love to have a girl, hoping to have one more baby and I'm sure it will be another boy if I do but it would be very much loved anyway xx

Hi Holi,

I am actually Shocked by your post  and very annoyed on your behalf. For the sake of your health and sanity I will ask you not to worry about other people's input in your pregnancies especially negative input. You will see that whatever sex you will have next time everybody will love that baby too.

If you would like to have a boy there are a few fun things you can try on line which apparently helps to make a blue bundle. I will give them a go for fun. :)

:hugs:
