Soooooo just had the news this morning from two tests that I am pregnant!!

I can't believe it, I have always had irregular periods and have been off the pill since June this year and still not had a period to date.

I actually had a doctors appointment booked for tomorrow morning to go and see him regarding my cycle, and now the appointment will be to say I'm pregnant!!

Clear blue said 2-3 weeks!! Arghhhh

Anyone else joining me?

Sarah :):):):):)

Congratulations Sarah! That means you are due in July? Come join the July mummies thread xx

Thak you :):)

Yes we have worked it out roughly as July, but of course will get definate confirmation tomorrow from the doctor.

I'll come and join now :):)

Thanks all.

Yes first baby! For some reason I feel really nervous, I don't think it's sunk it yet!

Wow congratulations, that's wonderful! What a happy surprise! :)

It's so weird, this post could almost have come from me a few weeks ago. I was in exactly the same situation. No period since coming off my pill, then took two pregnancy tests and ClearBlue said 2-3 weeks. :)

I am curious, do you know how your doctor will be able to confirm your due date? My GP said I wouldn't know until my 12 week scan because I hadn't had a period. I am desperate to know.

I'll let you know tomorrow I was due to go anyway like I say so I've kept the appointment.

I am guessing they will same a similar thing to me unless they send me for blood tests.

When are you due for your 12 weeks scan?

Just an update JenKat, went to my appointment this morning he has said I could be 6 weeks!! Clearblue said 2-3 weeks, so now I have now idea lol!!

I will know more when I see the midwife, which will hopefully be in a couple of weeks.

Ah it's frustrating isn't it? Not knowing how far along you are.

But I went back and read the Clear Blue instructions and that is somewhat illuminating. So basically the way the test lists how far along you are is not the same measure a doctor uses. So they have this little table in the instruction booklet that explains that 2-3 weeks on Clear Blue would mean roughly 5 weeks according to how a doctor/midwife/whoever would state how far along you are. So 6 weeks sounds right by most conventional measures. I didn't realise this until later but was pleased because it put me further along that I had thought.

I now have my midwife appointment on the 6th of December but no scan until January 8th. They might not be able to tell me until January, but I think I have a rough idea at least how far along I am. It also explained why I was already experiencing nausea at what I thought was an early stage but was actually pretty normal.

Yes it is!!

And thank you for that info, thats really useful as I didnt know thats how they read. I'll have a look tonight at the booklet, but now what the doctor said being 6 weeks makes more sense.

I may have to tell the family before Christmas day now...damn! lol it was going to be a lovely surprise.
