Whether the book publisher admits it or not it's just another example of political correctnes gone mad.
I swear in years to come this country will see civil war, with so many cultures living together in this country (which could be a great thing), look how rilled everyone gets when one 'foreign' person critisises things we do and it gets banned, especially at kids level it's mad, i.e. were not allowed to call black boards a black board for fear of racial discrimination (they have to be chalk boards) but ironically it's ok for them to call a white board a white board? Mad, tearing up nursery rhymes is just another example of all this crap.

The real problem lies with a minority of overanxious people, whose rather ill judged descisions are then jumped on by the anti- anyonewhoisnotbritishanddoesnotlovetheempire lobby

Elaborate please zebrastripes :)

Well, for instance, say a group of people- in this case Homestart or whatever it was, or the education board etc- they go over the sort of things kids are being taught, and flag up (quite rightly) anything they may think causes offence.
So for instance, they don't read them the old style Noddy in Toyland, fair enough. Then someone says "oh...do you think the phrase "black sheep" could cause offence?" and maybe someone else says "good point...oh i shouldn't think so... but let's change it to "rainbow sheep" in case we get into trouble"

So it's a bit silly but they mean well.

Next thing you know a bunch of tabloids or whatever are starting an uproar about all the decent British kids being taught decent British nursery rhymes which have been tailored to all those immigrants who are, by the way, stealing our jobs blah blah blah

I doubt any black person is actually going to get annoyed at Baa Baa black sheep. However pretending that they might fits another agenda.
